One of the hardest things that people have to do when they come into our showroom is to decide what they want to do for their kitchen.
People come in and they’ve had people talk to them about what they think they should have or what their parents or friends or grown kids think they should do. They watch remodeling television shows and they end up mired in confusion. How do I pick out of this plethora of choices to make sure my kitchen will work for me.
What our designers do is try to figure out what your core values are, do they like painted finish or wood on the cabinets or a blend of the two. What style of door, what type of countertops. What will the main use of your kitchen space be? Do you want an eat-in kitchen or do you prefer a more formal dining room?
We often ask them to fall into a rabbit hole of kitchens online. We direct them to Houzz and Pinterest and save the looks they love the most. After they spend a bit of time doing that, it becomes obvious which styles and colors really match you and your family. You don’t want to do a kitchen for your designer friends or your parents or children, you want to do a kitchen customized just for you.
